Every year, the Southern Cortes Community Association hosts a free, potluck community dinner for those with an appetite for scrumptious dining, socializing and live music!
Families and individuals gather, either in December or January, in a beautifully decorated and festive Manson’s Hall. They bring an abundance of savoury veggie dishes, salads and desserts, while the SCCA provides turkey and trimmings, potatoes and vegetables.
The main ingredients, which make this community feast a success, are the 150 people who partake and the incredible amount of volunteer-time that is contributed. Approximately 35 people volunteer as organizers, gravy-makers, stuffing-makers, servers, greeters, decorators, Master of Ceremonies, clean-up crew and so much more.
Bring your donations to the Food Bank when you come. To partake in the volunteer effort, contact the Manson’s Hall managers as the season approaches.
