Sew Much More
Tuesdays, 2 – 5pm
Join Marnie Andrews every Tuesday for a creative sewing experience. We provide all the equipment, space, and expert guidance you need to bring your sewing projects to life. From mending garments, to larger projects such as curtains and clothing – we can help you each step of the way. Everyone is welcome, and we encourage youth participation. Under 10 – please bring an adult with you. This is a free program run by the SCCA.

Cortes Day
Smelt Bay Provincial Park – July 2026
Cortes Day is an annual event organized and funded by the SCCA with much collaboration from the community, vendors and other organizations. Cortes Day is a complete celebration of the Cortes Island starting with a parade. The day is filled with activities for children and adults, such as the famous Nail, Sail, and Bail race. It’s a day to celebrate this beautiful island and the community that makes it so uniquely alive! MORE
Free Community Lunches
Offered once a month, these free community lunches are an opportunity to connect with the community and share a free warm meal. Funded through the CCHA Family Support Program and Community Foundations of Canada Equity Fund, Better At Home Food Security initiative, New Horizons for Seniors, Cortes Island Community Foundation, Klahoose, SCCA, and WCC.

Body Moves Dance Class
Saturdays, 10 – 11:30am, OM studio
Enjoy a Saturday morning workout with Norleen Lilico, while moving to some groovy tunes. Norleen will guide you through a warmup where she shares some of her understandings and experiences with the biomechanics of movement. This is followed by a free flow dancing with light facilitation to assist the thinking mind to let go as your body experiences joyful movement. Pay what you will.

Dance Temple
Saturdays, 7pm – 9pm * October 25 & November 8 *
This is a transformational space for healing, prayer, joy, sadness, laughter, pain and everything in between. Ecstatic dance is a free form dance where the dancers move to music in whatever ways feel best, letting the dance arise from within as we breathe and move through a dance journey. Dance Temple is an alcohol an scent free space. Movement and Mobility with Kelly
Mondays & Thursday, 11 – 12pm
This class is for anyone who wishes to have more mobility and movement in their day-to-day life. No previous experience needed. This class is done mainly seated in chairs with the option to stand and move in some exercises, the option to add light weights and resistance bands and is also available. Come enjoy a low impact fitness class that will help improve your general health and lifestyle.

Somatic Awareness for Women
First Monday of Every Month
Slow down, feel, come home to your whole self. Facilitated by Judyth Weaver this class sponsored by the Women’s Centre is open to all women and is by donation. These sessions are to allow us the time to feel, to sense, to pay attention to what our organisms/bodies are saying. To listen, to allow and to respond – if we want to. To come to peace with ourselves. Somatic awareness is the basic foundation of all somatic work.

Tai Chi Ch’uan with Judyth Weaver
Wednesday, 10am – 11am, OM Studio
T’ai Chi Ch’uan is a low-impact exercise that is ideal for seniors. These slow, gentle movements can improve balance, strength, flexibility, and range of motion and decrease the effects of common degenerative diseases and pain. It is a standing/moving exercise that doesn’t need special clothing or shoes. Classes are free and all are welcome. Contact Judyth: 250-935-8500

Vinyasa Yoga with Kelly Benson
Sundays, 11am – 12:15pm, OM studio

Yang to Yin with Kelly
Thursday, 5:15-7:15pm
Yang to Yin yoga and a sweet mix of a thoughtful vinyasa flow where we focus on breath and alignment followed by some longer holds to help relax some of the places we targeted during class. This is an all levels and all ages class.
