Our Mission

The goals and purposes of the Southern Cortes Community Association are to:

  • Foster a spirit of cooperation in the community.
  • Carry out necessary projects for the benefit of the community.
  • Contact and negotiate with agencies outside the community on behalf of the community.
  • Be responsible for the regulation and maintenance of the Community Hall.
  • Promote activities of a recreational and beneficial nature.
  • Aid and assist in all charitable work.
  • Be responsible for the regulation and maintenance of the Mansons Landing Cemetery.
  • Operate a licensed childcare centre.

 Board of Directors and Staff

The Southern Cortes Community Association is the owner and operator of Mansons Hall, and as a non-profit society is governed by its membership who vote for a volunteer Board of Directors. The current governance structure includes an Executive Director, answering to the Board, to oversee all operational facets of the organization, including the hiring of staff, management and oversight of all uses of the facility and grounds including but not limited to its programming, the skate park, capital improvements, the operation of its childcare centre, collaboration and community spaces, and the management of short and long term rentals. Locals and visitors are welcome and encouraged to become members of the SCCA for a $10 annual fee, $15 for a family, and $20 for an organization.
