Summer Youth Recreation Program
The Summer Youth Recreation Program is aimed at youth aged five to fifteen years old, offering a variety of activities on Cortes Island during July and August. From swimming lessons and crafting, to film making and drama, to fort building and sports – there is something for every child.

NATURE PLAY
Join us for a playful inquisitive exploration of forest to ocean at Manson’s Lagoon and Hanks Beach. Following the children’s curiosities, we will watch for wildlife, smell the flowers, play in the forest, build sculptures in
the sand, tell stories, and much more.
FAIRY WORLD
Gather round the fairy ring, finding flowers for the folk, Making merry works of heart, tea parties and where to start? Let’s make fairy houses in the Forest!
You are welcome to bring a gathering basket and dress up for the occasion, or come in casual attire.
ACTION GAMES
Fridays at Smelt Bay Park join Claudia for fun-filled mornings to play many of your favourite action games like Capture the Flag, Kick the Can, Stingers, Turtle Tag, and more.
Jazzy Jitterbugs
Come have fun with Haley in a high-paced, energetic and technique- focused dance class! We will learn dance techniques from a variety of styles, learn choreography, play games, learn balance and yoga techniques, all while focussing on creative learning and musicality. Radio Gaga
Learn radio and live broadcasting skills and techniques with CKTZ Cortes Radio Board Chair Bryan McKinnon. Students will produce their own radio broadcast to air on CKTZ Cortes Community Radio.
Registration
To register, please fill out a liability waiver and a registration form. Once registration has been submitted, you will receive an invoice. Payments can be sent via e-transfer to admin@mansonshall.org. Please note: registration is not complete until full payment has been made. Payment is due before the program start date and is required to save a spot for your child in the program.

Fees & Bursaries
Fees are due upon registration to secure a spot for your child in the program. We recommend registering as soon as possible as most programs have limited space. If a program is cancelled due to low enrolment, a refund will be issued for fees paid.
Each summer we offer a limited number of bursaries to families in need. Bursaries cover 50% of the program fees. If you are interested in a bursary, please reach out to Janice at admin@mansonshall.org and indicate a need for a bursary on the registration form.
